Buli is named following the buri palm. Alabang is named once the river that passes throughout the barangay. Ayala Alabang was established by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 out of Barangay Alabang. Sucat acquired its title with the vernacular word "sukat", which suggests "measurement"
